Update from Aespere Group Pte Ltd
Aespere Group Pte Ltd (the owner and operator of the Traditional Chinese Medicine chain of clinics known as Kin Teck Tong) (“KTT”) provides the following update following a recent cyber security incident (“Incident”).
KTT understands that the Incident has caused some concern. KTT is working closely with its specialised cyber and forensic experts to respond to the Incident.
What we know so far
On 9 January 2026, KTT became aware that a data set containing the personal information and health information to a limited number of its customers had been made available on a dark web forum (“Compromised Data”). Based on information available, KTT understands that the Compromised Data was in an environment fully managed by a 3rd party vendor. As soon as KTT became aware of the Incident, it took immediate steps to isolate and secure its systems.
Information involved
KTT would like to assure its customers that the Compromised Data does not include any banking or financial information.
Importantly, KTT has notified the relevant impacted individuals. KTT will provide those impacted individuals with a further update once KTT’s investigation of the Incident is complete with additional information on the type of data impacted and KTT’s recommended remedial actions to eliminate or mitigate any potential harm.
If you have not received any direct communications from KTT regarding the Incident, it means that KTT is not aware of any impact to you resulting from this Incident.
As an added level of assurance, KTT’s specialised cyber and forensic experts are also undertaking enhanced dark web monitoring as a precautionary measure.
General cyber security guidance
Be aware of scams
Phishing emails and scams are common risks associated with unauthorised access to personal information. We encourage everyone to be alert to unexpected emails, calls, or messages, especially those asking for personal information or money with a sense of urgency.
If a sender is purporting to be from a company, always verify the sender’s identity by contacting them through the company’s official phone number which can be found on the internet.
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (“MFA”) and strong passwords
KTT reminds everyone to remain vigilant and always proactively take steps to keep yourself safe online. One such step you can take now is to regularly change your passwords and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (“MFA”) where available.
Device updates and Anti-virus updates
Always ensure your device such as computers and smart devices, and applications are up to date. Also ensure your devices are protected with strong passwords or biometric security features (where available).
